On April 21, 2015, Tom McCally and Tina Maiolo will present, “Navigating a Tangled Web of Complex ADA and FMLA Issues.” During this presentation, Carr Maloney’s Tom McCally and Tina Maiolo, and Blackboard, Inc.’s Associate General Counsel, Alyssa Senzel, will provide an interactive panel discussion of the protections provided by the ADA/ADAAA and the FMLA and then will delve more deeply into the intertwined problems and complex employment issues created under both laws. The course will provide practical guidance to General Counsel and HR professionals for organizations of all sizes as to how they should approach and analyze each employment situation so as avoid running afoul of either law. The panel will also discuss other hot-button issues such as pregnancy related illnesses and disabilities, use of medical marijuana as a reasonable accommodation, mental health issues in the workplace and other recent ADA/ADAAA and FMLA trends and developments. The presentation will take place at Maggiano’s in Tyson’s Corner, located at 2001 International Drive, McLean, VA.
