Washington, D.C. (May 13, 2019): Carr Maloney member, Matthew D. Berkowitz and associate attorney, Samantha Lewis co-authored an article titled, “Maryland AG Cracks Down on Alleged Predatory Lending” for WANADA Bulletin.
The article discussed how the Maryland Attorney General announced that the Consumer Protection Division of the Office of Attorney General filed charges against Cash-N-Go’s owner and related entities for allegedly making “unlicensed and unsurious consumer loans” in the form of “title loans.” Dealers might not be directly affected, but find out how financial institutions and dealers should be aware of the latest action by Maryland’s Attorney General to crack-down on predatory lending practices.
