WASHINGTON, D.C. (December 3, 2013) – Carr Maloney P.C. is pleased to announce that Member and veteran litigator Jan E. Simonsen was named among Business Insurance magazine’s 2013 “Women to Watch.”
Simonsen was among 25 women recognized for doing outstanding work in commercial insurance, reinsurance, risk management, employee benefits, law and consulting. They were honored at a luncheon today in New York, and featured in the December 2 issue of Business Insurance.
“We are very proud that Business Insurance has recognized Jan among such a distinguished group of women,” said William Carter, who serves as managing attorney at the firm. “Jan’s strategic approach to solving her clients’ legal concerns, combined with her keen business sense, makes her very deserving of this prestigious award.”
This marks the eighth year of the Women to Watch feature. Each year’s honorees are selected by a panel of senior editors at Business Insurance who consider various criteria, including recent professional achievements, influence on the marketplace and contributions to the advancement of women in business. Honorees are selected from nominations submitted by readers of Business Insurance.
Simonsen focuses her practice on mass and toxic tort litigation, retail litigation, and professional liability. Her clients include retailers, manufacturers and professionals, and she represents clients in state and federal courts and in multi-district litigation. Her approach is marked by looking at the “big picture” in each case, and by trying to resolve disputes in a manner that is in her clients’ best interests—not only from a legal perspective, but from a business perspective as well.
